The newly established Department of Agricultural Engineering offers programmes focused on the application of engineering principles and scientific technologies to ensure sustainable food production across the entire farm-to-fork chain. The B.Tech UG curricula are carefully structured as per the latest 6th Deans' Committee Report of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
The programme aims to develop skilled, dynamic and technically competent professionals capable of addressing the engineering requirements of farm mechanization, irrigation and drainage, soil and water conservation, post-harvest processing, value addition, renewable energy, and the efficient design and management of aquaculture systems. The Department is equipped with well-developed laboratory facilities that will provide field exposure and hands-on practical training for operating agricultural equipment, the use of computers and IT tools for design, crop simulation, modelling, and remote sensing applications.
The UG programme also includes two industrial trainings to provide students with practical exposure and enhance their technical expertise and professional skills. In addition to imparting quality education, the Department will actively engage in multidisciplinary researches and projects.
