About the Department

The Department of Computer Applications is committed to delivering quality education and fostering innovation in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. The department offers both Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes, firmly positioning students at the forefront of the technological revolution. Both programs are affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal.

The department maintains a friendly and supportive academic environment that encourages strong interaction between students and faculty members. A team of experienced, dedicated, and highly qualified faculty members provides effective mentoring and guidance. Additional remedial classes are conducted for students who require extra academic support, ensuring inclusive and comprehensive learning.

Project-based learning is an integral part of the academic curriculum. Students undertake mini projects, live projects, and major dissertation work to strengthen their programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The department actively encourages participation in workshops, seminars, coding competitions, hackathons, and other technical events to enhance practical exposure, creativity, and innovation.

  • Technical Expertise: Develop the ability to plan, analyze, design, code, implement, test and maintain the software product for real time systems that are technically sound, economically feasible and socially acceptable.
